Our Services
PFSCM’s core expertise in six key areas — planning for product demand, sourcing and procuring products, moving products internationally and locally, storing products in compliant warehousing, tracking the location of products in the supply chain, and adhering to quality standards and continuous improvement — enables us to deliver best-in-class supply chain solutions and improve the lives of people in low- and middle-income countries.

Plan
Take control of production scheduling, better manage shipments, and reduce inventory stockouts and product obsolescence through effective supply chain demand planning and product quantification.
Through managing large supply chain projects, such as PEPFAR’s Supply Chain Management System (SCMS), PFSCM has extensive experience assisting clients in demand management, forecasting and product quantification.
Our forecasting process comprises three parts:
- Forecasting of patient treatment needs based on the projected population and local treatment guidelines.
- Forecasting and planning of procurement to ensure deliveries occur as planned.
- Forecasting of shipping and delivery to ensure inventory is maintained within stocking parameters.
We also use forecasts to:
- Project short- to medium-term budgetary requirements.
- Inform government or donor resource mobilization.
- Provide input into manufacturers’ production scheduling.
- Contribute to market intelligence.

Source
We drive down procurement prices for large and small programs and supply our clients with products at the best value through:
- Pooled procurement opportunities.
- Long-term supplier agreements.
- Strong vendor relations to drive continuous performance improvement.
- Forward order placement.
- Balancing of product awards to ensure a healthy marketplace.
PFSCM’s deep market knowledge provides insights into core product components that affect price, quality, vendor performance, and availability.

Move
PFSCM develops and manages global supply chains, providing multi-modal services — including ocean, air (courier and charter), and road freight — as well as cold-chain shipment management. We have secured local customs clearance and waivers in many low- and middle-income countries.
We also manage in-country supply chain operations on behalf of governments and donors to ensure last-mile delivery to some of the hardest-to-reach places in the world.
As an independent, carrier-neutral managed logistics organization — or fourth-party logistics service provider (4PL) — PFSCM manages multiple freight forwarding contracts, securing best service and price for our clients by driving competition among third-party logistics service providers (3PLs).

Store
Through our partner Imperial Logistics, PFSCM has access to an established network of world-class pharma-compliant regional warehouses throughout Africa (Botswana, Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Namibia, Nigeria, South Africa, and Zambia), the Middle East (Dubai), and Europe (Netherlands).
PFSCM also deploys new infrastructure through procurement and assembly of modular storage units, which can be configured as larger warehouses, smaller storage units, or medical clinics. These modular storage solutions can be fabricated quickly for relatively low cost, can be customized in size and configuration, and meet international standards for pharmaceutical storage.

Track
All stakeholders, clients, and service providers have planning and execution access to our integrated data network, allowing them to orchestrate actions as commodities move through the supply chain. This end-to-end visibility enables better planning and supply chain decisions.

Quality
PFSCM has a reputation for uncompromising quality standards, from the products we source and procure, to the systems and processes we deploy to meet our clients’ requirements.
PFSCM assures product quality by procuring from suppliers that have been approved by a Stringent Regulatory Authority (SRA) or prequalified by the World Health Organization (WHO). For products not approved by an SRA or prequalified by WHO, PFSCM conducts dossier reviews and performs quality audits of manufacturers for compliance with WHO current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) guidelines before these products can be procured.
In addition, PFSCM has an established automated online sampling and quality testing system through which products are flagged for quality testing to continuously monitor quality standards.
PFSCM also prequalifies our suppliers to maintain and grow a supplier network for our clients. Our audits cover aspects of the WHO’s cGMP and “A Model Quality Assurance System for Procurement Agencies” (MQAS).
